Gasoline is extremely dangerous. Its vapors can be ignited from a considerable distance by flame or sparks.
- Fuel mowers and tools outside.
- Move mower or tool away from fueling area before starting the engine.
- Let engine cool before refueling.
- Place portable containers on the ground during filling, and keep the nozzle in contact with the container.
- Never fill a container in or on a vehicle.
- Don't add fuel near an open flame.
- Don't smoke while adding fuel.
- Keep children away when fueling or using gas-powered equipment.
- Store gasoline only in a tightly closed UL-approved container, out of reach of children.
- Don't store gasoline inside your home, even in a safety container.

Hear are some tips for safe emergency generator use.
- Always consult and follow your operator’s manual. All generators operate differently and have safety and maintenance requirements.
- Use only in areas that are well ventilated, away from children and pets, and away from air intakes to the home. Always keep your generator clean and free from dirt and dust.
- Do not install a generator to the main power supply unless you have a special disconnect switch. This switch must be installed by a qualified and licensed electrician.
