This past weekend, the IFSA presented at the Midwest Historical Research Society’s (MHRS) monthly Membership meeting on the north side of Chicago. The 20 minute presentation was an overview of the IFSA and the various programs and resources it offers.

Camp I Am Me

This past weekend, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance hosted a full day of Staff Professional Development for the more than 60 volunteers who will be participating in this year’s Camp “I Am Me” program. Volunteers from all across the state and beyond participated in a nine hour session at J.C. Restoration, Inc. in Rolling Meadows to participate various lectures and team-building exercises.

Jeff Jordan Interview

Jeff Jordan, a recent participant of the 2nd Annual IFSA Young Adult Summit, was recently interviewed on NBC15 (WMTV), Madison, Wisconsin. Jeff, along with his sister, are holding a fundraiser to help raise funds to allow burn survivors to attend various support conferences throughout the country.

Young Adult Summit

The second annual Young Adult Summit kicked-off on Friday, February 21st at the Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca. The three-day weekend retreat is made available to young people, ages 18-25, who have experienced injuries from burns. The summit was created to prepare and assist participants for the challenges ahead of them not only as burn survivors, but as young adults.
