2022 Camp I Am Me Blog – Tuesday, June 21st

It seems that a weather update is always the first item on the blog post, but it determines how the day will go at camp each and every day. It was a steamy one today. Heat indexes reached 108 degrees as the lunch hour approached. The two morning activity periods went off without a hitch and the early afternoon was all water fun! After that, campers were kept in and around their cabins to stay cools as the temperatures rose. Lots of water and Gatorades were consumed. In the evening, an audible was called so children and volunteers weren’t running all over camp in the humidity, an indoor movie (Monsters University) was held at the lodge for everyone to enjoy and stay cool. Despite the warm evening, Units still had some late-night campfires and smore’s! Tomorrow’s the big day!
