August 19th was the IFSA Day at the State Fair, in which the Alliance hosts volunteers at the fire service tent to promote fire safety and burn prevention to fair-goers. This year, nearly 40 volunteers from all across the state, and beyond, were in attendance to help promote the mission of the organization.

The tent and surrounding activities allow kids and adults to climb on fire engines, slide down firepoles, watch fire sprinkler demonstrations, while also receiving educational materials on fire safety through various stations and activities. Some stations included a Stop, Drop, & Roll mat, Close Before You Doze bedroom door, a gigantic smoke alarm, trivia wheel, and puppet show.

All volunteers were treated to a complimentary lunch from IFSA supporters, Mission BBQ, received an IFSA t-shirt, and had time to enjoy many of the fair activities when not working the tent. Thank you to all that made the day at the State Fair such a success!
