Camp I Am Me Welcomes Program Coordinator, Leslie Metcalf

In April, Camp I Am Me welcomed new staff member, Leslie Metcalf, to the organization. Leslie most recently spent the past eight years with the Chicago Wolves professional hockey team. While there Leslie collaborated with various groups, including nonprofits such as Camp I Am Me, in order to provide memorable game experiences. During the pandemic, Leslie founded Project Thrive, an educational forum for fans, and others in the community, to learn about mental health. In her spare time, Leslie is invested in mental health programming. She continues to take classes on the causes and effects of trauma individually, collectively, and generationally. She is a public speaker and writer and is currently working on a trauma healing journal to help others start/continue to heal.

As Program Coordinator, Leslie will be overseeing the many survivor support programs such as Summer Camp, Family Days, and scholarship opportunities.  She will also manage fire safety and burn prevention programs the organization runs, such as the Be Alarmed! Smoke Alarm Installation program.
