Fire Safety Knows No Limits! Fire Safety for People with Disabilities

Fire Safety Knows No Limits! Fire Safety for People with Disabilities

This booklet provides basic fire safety information for a high-risk group – persons with disabilities. It is estimated that 56.7 million Americans in the United States have one or more disabilities. Those living with a disability are at a higher risk for injury or death by fire.

The “Fire Safety Knows No Limits! Fire Safety for People with Disabilities” 8-page booklet provides information for both those who have a disability and those who may care for someone. Safety topics include personal limitations, escape plans, smoke alarms, specialized devices and accessories, communication with the local fire department, TTY/TDD devices, and fire sprinklers.
