SUMMARY:Boot Day for Burn Survivors Rally Dates (Fundraiser)
DESCRIPTION:Support & Empower Survivors Through Community Engagement\nBurn survivors live with the physical and emotional scars from the trauma of being burned\, and through Camp I Am Me programming\, they can access a range of opportunities to – over time – heal from the inside out. \nWe ask for fire departments\, organizations\, companies\, and others’ support and help so that we can continue to provide our yearly Summer Camp\, burn survivor programs\, Family Days\, adult support groups\, and other events and activities that help survivors to be able to say\, “I am me\,” despite their scars. \nHow can you help? Your organization can host a Boot Day for Burn Survivors Campaign\, and hopefully\, as a tradition moving forward to help Camp I Am Me continue to provide programs at no cost to survivors and their families. \nCamp I Am Me is continually working to increase our reach so that all burn survivors in Illinois and beyond are aware of our supportive and empowering programs. Your participation in this fundraising will help us achieve this end. \nLearn more by clicking HERE!

SUMMARY:Healing Wild Trip (Lake Tahoe\, NV)
DESCRIPTION:Join Camp I Am Me as we head to Lake Tahoe for a healing adventure that helps us rediscover our voice. This trip is scheduled from May 16-22\, 2026 and is available to burn survivors\, ages 23 and older. \nDo you:\n– Have difficulty communicating the most important and deeply felt things?\n– Apologize for existing and find yourself shrinking in conversations to avoid “taking up space”?\n– Keep your opinions to yourself\, instinctively agreeing to do so just to keep the peace?\n– Feel conflicted and finding yourself waiting for permission to speak\, to want\, to be? \nThese are all remnants of a traumatic experience. Your nervous system is focused on survival.  And often times\, even after the traumatic event has passed\, many individuals find that they have lost their voice. They do not feel empowered to speak up for themselves. They report feeling silenced\, alone\, uncomfortable\, and afraid to give voice to what is most important. \nThis can occur in all kinds of everyday situations including in a doctor’s office\, in the workplace\, at a child’s school\, with a bank or utility company\, making a big purchase\, contacting elected officials\, conversations with family\, the list is endless. Not having a voice shows up as knowing we have something to say but not saying it. When we don’t speak up\, it leaves us exhausted and overwhelmed. We feel like we are always backing down and giving in. \nOn this trip we are going to learn how to reclaim our voice by learning how to speak up for the voiceless. We’ll be working with American Wild Horse Conservation (AWHC)\, one of the groups fighting to protect wild horses.  They will teach us the issues facing wild herds\, and the positive/proven ways they are allowing the wild horses to be heard. They will explain how they work to push for protections\, and what it means to stand up for a future that includes wild horses.  We’ll even get to visit rangeland where wild horses still roam while feeling the healing benefits of awe and wonder. \nIn addition to the incredible teachings from AWHC\, there will be time dedicated to hike\, bike\, kayak\, and explore all the many naturally beautiful places in the area. Along with these activities\, there will be time for reflection\, and gathering as a group to discuss what we’ve learned\, and how we can apply it to our daily lives. Beneath the forest of pine trees\, the starry night sky\, and along the vast lakeshore\, we’ll have moments to share\, connect\, and challenge ourselves with what it means to reignite our desire for self-expression and self-advocacy. \nThe week will challenge you to release what’s holding you back and keeping you quiet\, while also encouraging you to grow forward into who you would most like to become. \nThe Healing Wild Trip takes place May 16-22\, 2026 in the Lake Tahoe\, NV-area. All costs for participants are covered as a result of the generous support of Camp I Am Me donors and sponsors. \nAttendees must have a Real ID or Passport for flights.

SUMMARY:Boot Day for Burn Survivors Rally Dates (Statewide)

Your participation in this fundraising will help us achieve this end. \nLearn more by clicking HERE!
