Hello Camp Family!
Camp I Am Me is excited to announce that Camper Applications for Summer Camp are now available and being accepted! The 34th annual camp for young burn survivors is taking place June 15-21, 2025, at the YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside. The theme for the week is “Out of this World!”
Through the generosity of so many individuals and groups who donate funds and volunteer their time, this unique weeklong camping experience continues to be made available at no cost!
Please set aside approximately 10-15 minutes to complete this form and have your camper near-by to choose just a few of the many activities that will be offered throughout the week! All applications received prior to April 15th will be eligible to win one of two $50.00 Amazon gift cards. All applications are requested to be completed by June 6th.
Camp I Am Me will once again be offering bus service to campers. Camper pick-up/drop-off locations include Chicago (multiple), Bloomington, Collinsville, Dwight, Galesburg, Kankakee, Litchfield, Maywood, Rockford, Springfield, and Woodridge. Campers may also be dropped-off and picked-up by parents or family members – and Counselors-in-Training (18-20 year old campers) will have the option to drive a personal vehicle to and from camp. If transportation is an obstacle, please contact the Camp I Am Me office so we can work on a solution with you to ensure the camper can join us this year!
Also, this year, Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Campers (18-20 years old)! Camp I Am Me is excited to announce that a maximum of four college scholarships will be made available to eligible 2025 CIT campers through the recently developed Phoenix Scholarship Program. This program aims to provide financial assistance to college-aged students who face significant economic barriers to post-secondary education. This opportunity is exclusive campers participating in the 2025 Summer Camp as part of the CIT (Counselor-in-Training) program and are either a high school senior graduating or a current college student under the age of 25. Campers interested in this opportunity will have dedicated time and assistance from volunteers during the week of Summer Camp. Announcement of scholarship recipients will take place in early July. The scholarship amount will be no less than $5,000 to those it is awarded to.
Camp I Am Me staff will continue to keep you up to date on camp planning taking place between now and June 15th.
