As a parent of a burn survivor, this program [Summer Camp] was instrumental in helping my child recover physically, mentally, and emotionally from his burn injuries. I am so grateful for all the people involved with IFSA and would highly recommend this organization. All of the volunteers are extremely genuine and committed to fire safety. Getting the word out to promote fire safety is so important and can help prevent future fires or burns. It is devastating to know someone who has been through the trauma of a fire. I am so grateful that my burn survivor had IFSA on his side. As a result of his experience with Camp I Am Me, my son is now himself a volunteer with the summer camp program. He is raising awareness of fire safety and helping those who are burn survivors.

Camp I Am Me is a wonderful organization that has done so much for me and so many in Illinois. They are passionate about fire safety and dedicated to spreading their message about fire prevention. They provide hot water thermometer kits to every newborn in the state, educational programs, resources, and last but not least IFSA Summer Camp. Starting in 1992 I was a camper for four years and I honestly say that camp had a profound impact on my well-being, my life, and the person I am today. I look forward to camp every summer and see it as a “refueling of the heart and soul”. The friendships and memories I’ve gained over the years remain strong and I consider them all to be family. I continued to return to camp every year as a Counselor-In-Training until I was 21 and next year will be my 15th as a full-counselor. They have done so much for me and I will always do what I can to give back the same love and generosity given to me.

Camp I Am Me Summer Camp turned a horrific event in our life into something positive to look forward to every year. For everyone that volunteers to make camp happen, the world is a better place because of you!
