Family Challenge Day – Clay Studio (Rockford)
Join us for a very special Family Day at Inferno Clay Studio in Rockford, on Saturday, January 31st!
Inferno Clay Studio is a women-led, artist-run, cooperative nonprofit organization committed to the longevity and accessibility of the ceramic arts in Rockford, Illinois. The studio hopes to cultivate a love for ceramic arts, help more artists grow with the equipment they need and create a bigger market for makers to sell their pottery, dishes and other ceramic work.
Inferno is co-owned by burn survivor, Alyssa Noonen. Alyssa has spent time with Camp I Am Me by volunteering as a counselor for our Summer Camp and as a mentor at Strive to Thrive: Beyond the Burns Young Adult Retreat.
This Family Day we’ll bring Camp I Am Me families together to have fun, engage, and support one another, but we’ll also widen our circle to include supporting Alyssa’s artistic business endeavor through our gathering at Inferno Clay Studio.
Each attendee will have a chance to engage their creative genius to paint a handmade mug. Keep it for yourself or give it as a gift.
Spots are limited. Registration maximum is 5. Must be 10 years of age or order. First session will be at 12:00pm. If filled, a second session will be held at 3:00pm.
The Camp I Am Me Family Day events are no-cost support programs available to burn survivors of all ages and their family members*.
The events provide opportunities to socialize with other burn survivors – young and old, adult peer support to assist parents and caregivers, and time for families to spend with others overcoming similar challenges – all while enjoying various family-friendly activities in a fun atmosphere. Many of the programs include admission tickets, events, special activities, and family goodie bags.
*Family Day is available to burn survivors and to their immediate family members (parent/spouse/siblings/children & caregivers).
