Family Day at the Race Track (Joliet)
Start your engines, Camp I Am Me families!
On Sunday, July 5th we’ll head to the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet to view NASCAR’s return to the track!
Drive fast and finish first is the goal.
Feel the rumbling thunder at the start, witness speed and strategy as drivers work their magic in a tight field of competitors and cheer them on while they ‘bump and run’, avoid ‘kissing the wall’, or ‘cut a tire’ while vying for the win in this 267 lap/400-mile race.
From a Camp I Am Me group photo opportunity in Victory Lane before the race, to lots of race day fun at the track before the start, to enjoying the hijinks and track mastery as a group in the grandstand, this event is made for those with a need for speed.
Grandstand gates open at 11:30 a.m. Race starts at 5:00 p.m.
Tickets are limited, require the ability to be downloaded to a cell phone, and are non-transferable and nonrefundable once distributed.
Save-the-Date! Registration to Open in April!
Camp I Am Me Family Day events are no-cost support programs available to burn survivors of all ages and their family members*.
The events provide opportunities to socialize with other burn survivors – young and old, adult peer support to assist parents and caregivers, and time for families to spend with others overcoming similar challenges – all while enjoying various family-friendly activities in a fun atmosphere. Many of the programs include admission tickets, events, special activities, and family goodie bags.
*Family Day is available to burn survivors and to their immediate family members (parent/spouse/siblings/children & caregivers).
