Many local and not so local fire departments arrived early to day to participate in the annual fire apparatus parade. This gives all campers the chance to ride on or in a fire vehicle while they travel through camp waving to all the guests, sponsors, family and friends.
The Super Nova Super Soaker Challenge (water fight) took place in the middle of the downpour in the evening. Just when you thought no one could get any more wet, Evanston Firefighters and Fox Lake FPD made sure to spray water and provide water games for the campers and volunteers. Being wet for seven straight hours never felt so good!
Heard Around Camp:
“Who I am because of Camp I Am Me. No one or anything can make me feel like anything less than who I am.” Powerful words from a young camper that resonate with us all.
