Peoria FD Installs 1,000 Smoke Alarms Through Be Alarmed! Program

Camp I Am Me by Illinois Fire Safety Alliance and the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal recognizes and congratulates the Peoria Fire Department for their outstanding contributions to fire safety education and the installation of 1,000 10-year battery smoke alarms through active participation in the Be Alarmed! Smoke Alarm Installation Program.

In doing so, Peoria Fire Department has educated residents, young and old, on home fire safety and prevention methods and will directly reduce the number of fire-related injuries and deaths within their community.

“It is our goal of the Peoria Fire Department to continually strive that every home in the city is equipped with working smoke alarms because we understand how they save lives in the most terrifying moments of a person’s life.”
