Camp I Am Me by Illinois Fire Safety Alliance and the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal recognizes and congratulates the Decatur Fire Department for their outstanding contributions to fire safety education and the installation of 1,000 10-year battery smoke alarms through active participation in the Be Alarmed! Smoke Alarm Installation Program.
In doing so, Decatur Fire Department has educated residents, young and old, on home fire safety and prevention methods and will directly reduce the number of fire-related injuries and deaths within their community.
“By providing access to free smoke alarms and ensuring they are properly installed, this program directly addresses fire risk by helping save lives, reduce fire-related injuries, and strengthening the overall safety of our community. The Decatur Fire Department remains committed to the safety of our community.”
