Join Us for a Day of Fire Safety Education at the Illinois State Fair

Are you passionate about fire safety education? Do you want to make a difference across the state? Then mark your calendars for Friday, August 16, 2024, and join us for a special event at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield!

Every year, Camp I Am Me organizes a “Day at the Illinois State Fair,” where dedicated volunteers come together to manage the Fire Service Tent and provide essential fire prevention education to fair-goers. The tent offers a unique opportunity for both kids and adults to engage in interactive and educational activities focused on fire safety, including climbing on fire engines and sliding down fire poles.

Volunteers will be requested to work two 2-hour shifts, allowing ample time to enjoy the various fair activities and events. Moreover, this event is not just limited to adults – it’s a fantastic opportunity for families to engage in community service together. Younger participants are welcome, making it an ideal activity for Scouts and other youth groups.

For those wanting to participate but requiring transportation, there are convenient pick-up and drop-off locations in the suburban Chicago area, ensuring easy access to the event. And don’t worry about the logistics – volunteers will be provided with snacks and drinks, a State Fair admission ticket, a parking pass (if driving), lunch, and a Camp I Am Me t-shirt.

If you’re ready to make a positive impact in fire safety education, we invite you to join us by registering today, or for further inquiries, please reach out to the Camp I Am Me office at (847) 390-0911.

Together, let’s work towards reducing the number of individuals affected by fire-related incidents through education, awareness, and community engagement.
