Summer Camp Blog – Thursday, June 22nd

It’s Thursday!

Today was a sleep in day which meant everything started an hour later with the wake-up bell at 8:00 a.m. today. Campers woke up to sunny skies and warm temperatures again today, so once again everyone is making sure to drink lots of fluids and to apply sun block regularly.

Events: Activities for the day included archery for the first time this week. Quite a few campers tested their skill and try to pop the balloons on the targets. Basketball was another early morning favorite along the Teams Course and more ziplining. After breakfast there was also horseback riding and our Counselors in Training hosted some challenge activities for campers.

In the afternoon campers were able to participate in a seed planting activity, rock painting, woodworking, tie-dye, beads and bracelets and 4-square, while the waterfront, pool and splash zone were also made available to cool off.

After dinner a rousing game of Muckman’s Suitcase was played by all campers and was followed by a water bonfire, before campers headed back to their units for campfires and s’mores before bed.

Meals: Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sliced ham, and croissants along with cereal, yogurt, bagels and fresh fruit available every morning. Lunch was Italian beef sandwiches, mozzarella cheese sticks and crinkle cut carrots along with the salad bar always available at lunch. Dinner was spaghetti with marinara sauce, broccoli, garlic bread and apple sauce with a salad bar available at every dinner. Dessert was chocolate chip cookies.

Weather: Another warm day with bright sun and cloudless sky. Temps in high 80’s.

Big Thank You’s!: Mother Nature!
