Camp I Am Me, OSFM, & Millikin University Join Forces with The Nick Project to Promote College Campus Fire Safety

The Project was initially presented verbally to educate the students of risks of fires and how to prevent them. Now years later and with the help of the Decatur community, Millikin University, Camp I Am Me, and the State Fire Marshals Office, this initiative is continuing to supply students with free fire safety equipment – including fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and even escape ladders.

2024 Summer Camp Volunteer Requests Now Being Accepted

Even though the 33rd annual Summer Camp will not be taking place until June of 2024, Camp I Am Me is already beginning to prepare for the signature event. Camp I Am Me’s Summer Camp is Illinois’ camp for young burn survivors which provides a special and unforgettable one-week experience for approximately 60 children a year.

Caper Brown Memorial Scholarship Awarded

2023 recipient of the Caper Brown memorial scholarship, Jesseka Boyer is a long-time burn survivor and high school cheerleader and track athlete. At just the age of one, she was left near a fire by a babysitter and curiously wanted to touch it.
